Biography :
Dr Avijit Pramanik has conducted research in the field of Nano science and Nanotechnology for several years. He obtained his PhD in 2010 from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India, in the area of Supramolecular Chemistry. Since then, he has undertaken post-doctoral research at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. He was initially carried out his own research on anion coordination chemistry for analytical sensing and environmental remediation. Currently, his research has focused on the designing and synthesizing multidimensional carbon-based nanomaterials modified with biological molecules for application in long range optical rulers, delivery, for detection, separation, and killing of pathogenic bacteria, viruses, and for separation and bio-imaging, diagnostics of cancer cells from blood matrices as well as nanotoxicology. His has been continuing his vision to explore benoynd the molecular frontier which brings together research, discovery and invention level, to develop the sophisticated cutting edge research methodologies and strategies for interdisciplinary fields of chemistry, biology, materials as well as environmental science.
He has also served as a editorial board member in the SM Journal of Pediatrics and professional regular members for several scientific societies such as American Chemical Society, Mississippi Academy of Science.
